1) I.G.F.A. RULES will apply (live bait, naturals and artificials). All anglers and crew members are expected to be familiar with the I.G.F.A. Rules. The angler must hook, fight and bring the fish to the boat for release unaided by any other person. No one other than the angler may touch the rod. Boats must supply their own bait. A copy of the latest I.G.F.A. Rules will be given to each boat.

2) LINES Shall not exceed 100 lb. Test. Maximum 6 lines per boat. Maximum 4 anglers per boat.

3) FISHING HOURS. 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday and 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Saturday. No bait or teasers in the water before starting time. On Wednesday and Thursday any boat that has called in a hook-up may fight the fish to conclusion with no time limit. On Saturday all boats must return to the docks by 5:00 P.M.

4) REPORTING. As soon as possible after hooking a billfish, the captain will notify the Committee Boat and report, if known, the species of the fish and the angler’s name. All hookups must be acknowledged by the Committee Boat to be eligible for tournament points. If you can not communicate by radio ask another boat to relay and get a release number for you. Alternate – call on satellite phone to local number provided. Any fish hooked prior to the deadline on Wednesday and Thursday may be played until released, provided said fish was reported hooked-up prior to the deadline. On Saturday all releases must be reported by 3:00 P.M. lines out deadline.

5) RELEASE. To be eligible for release points the following procedure must be followed: After a hookup, the Captain must call the Committee Boat to obtain a release number assignment. All teams must provide their own digital still or video camera to verify releases. The camera must show the correct time and date stamp on each photo or video. To score an official release, an identifiable photo must be taken of the fish showing the number card, time and date stamp.

After the release photo is taken, the official time, species, control number and angler name must be written on each catch report affidavit. Each registered angler and boat captain must then sign the catch report affidavit. At the end of the day’s fishing, the camera, catch report affidavit and all photos or video footage taken must be brought to the official scoring station by 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday and Thursday and 5:00 P.M. on Saturday for verification of official release points. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of that day’s catch. The specie of fish identified on the catch affidavit must match the photo or the fish will be disqualified and no points allowed.

A qualified release requires that the fish to be released stay in the water at all times. Any fish that is removed from the water by holding it up for display or bringing it into the cockpit will be disqualified and assessed a 500 point penalty.

6) HONOR SYSTEM. The tournament is conducted on the honor system; however, in case of complaints, protest forms are available and must be filed the same day as the infraction of the rules is observed and signed by the team captain.
